Burns & McDonnell Geospatial Consultant - 1898 & Co. (Akron) in Akron, Ohio
The Geospatial Consultant will play a lead role in GIS projects supporting utilities, government organizations, and manufacturing clients. This role will provide overall technical leadership for system architecture design, system implementation, and systems integration. This position will lead a variety of GIS analysis, GIS application development, GIS system implementation, data migration, and GIS data development efforts providing guidance to GIS specialists and GIS technicians. The Senior Geospatial Consultant will assist with business development efforts by supporting project pursuits and helping to develop new business opportunities. Business development support may include project scoping and budgeting, system architecture design, developing content for and leading technical demonstrations, and providing content for proposals.
Lead GIS consulting engagements while supporting both internal and external project teams.
Provide technical leadership for GIS system implementations and GIS system integrations.
Support the development of technical specifications, project approaches, develop project cost estimates and project schedules.
Perform quality assurance and quality control of deliverables to adhere to client and project requirements.
Development of GIS system needs and requirements and implementation of improved business processes.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers and contractors in order to develop business.
Demonstrate industry knowledge and its relevance to the application of GIS.
Proactively craft and propose solutions that clarify how GIS brings business value to address critical business challenges faced by clients
Leverage domain knowledge when working with cross-divisional teams. Be motivated and resourceful and take initiative to resolve issues.
Responsible for assisting with sales pursuits and proposal development.
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

Minimum 8 years of related experience
Bachelor's degree in GIS, computer science, engineering, mathematics, geography, or closely related field, with master's degree in a similar field a plus.
Experience in platform architecture, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, deployment, security, identity management frameworks, cloud, and scalability
Excellent GIS skills, including data analysis abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience architecting, implementing, and administrating enterprise IT-GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS enterprise platform (desktop, server, and online).
Experience working with the ArcGIS Utility Network
Experience working with the Schneider Electric ArcFM and Fiber Manager platforms.
Knowledge of integration of GIS with other enterprise systems (e.g., CMMS, ERP, EAM, CRM)
