Burns & McDonnell Assistant Project Manager - Distribution (Albuquerque) in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Our Burns & McDonnell team is seeking to hire an Assistant Project Manager with a focus in project/engineering management within our Transmission and Distribution Global Practice. This individual must demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
Duties may include:
Supervision and coordination of multidiscipline engineering and permitting teams.
Project management, project planning, scheduling, resource management, budgeting, as well as establishing and meeting critical project objectives.
Direct coordination with Transmission and Distribution clients, subcontractors, and other external stakeholders.
Identify opportunities and manage team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, and related activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related Engineering Technology degree from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Master of Science degree in Engineering may be substituted for one year experience.
Three years of relevant engineering experience, consulting preferred.
Successful completion (i.e., passing) FE or EIT preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution power flow.
Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Proficiency in distribution design software and GIS to aid in design.
Strong knowledge regarding easements, right-of-way, and permitting for distribution projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
