AZCO Materials Coordinator - AZCO (Appleton, WI) in Appleton, Wisconsin
Description
The Materials Coordinator will coordinate fabrication material receiving, documentation, storage, and material inventory control. They will distribute incoming equipment and supplies to the craft workers within the Fabrication shops based on project needs.
Monitor inventory and adjust inventories when needed based on project needs.
Execute physical counts of inventory with random audits based on priority of project.
Assist in directing 2-3 craft employees in the receiving yard for any deliveries.
Coordinate delivery drivers to offloading location within the receiving yard. Ensure proper paperwork is received upon delivery.
Verify accuracy of delivered materials and enter data into tracking system.
Complete Over, Short & Damage Report and communicate with vendor as needed.
Verify Material Test Report with vendors prior to delivery.
Effectively communicate necessary updates on materials to shop team on a regular basis.
Expedite late deliveries or shortages for subcontracts and material purchase orders.
Communicate with suppliers to achieve project cost and schedule requirements.
Maintain communication with craft personnel for inventory accuracy and awareness of potential problems.
Coordinate with Quality on material quality issues and recommends improvement plans.
Work with Procurement on accuracy of material purchase orders and invoicing.
Monitor project material ASME Section VIII requirements of traceability and receiving.
Coordinate with shop(s) foreman and project managers to handle any material changes, returns, stop work orders, and shortages.
Investigate and analyze material shortages, discrepancies, and transfers. Identify areas for improvement.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction, or a related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving in Manufacturing or Construction Industry preferred.
Basic knowledge of fabrication materials preferred.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Involvement on campus or in the community.
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Professional Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
