Burns & McDonnell is looking for a Senior Biogas Engineer to add to our Environmental Services Engineering team. As part of the Environmental Services Practice, this position will support the development and growth of our waste-to-energy market services. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and have the following experience:
Execution of biogas feasibility studies, process design development, mass and energy balances, equipment procurement packages, construction design documents, and construction support.
Understanding of the waste to energy industry including existing / emerging markets and demonstrated ability to monitor and communicate new market drivers and regulatory changes.
Supporting civil and environmental projects which may include earthwork, stormwater, wastewater, remediation, solid waste, and restoration.
Developing and maintaining client relationships.
Mentorship to staff and project engineers.
Duties may include:
Biogas generation estimates.
Materials handling design.
Gas collection and process design.
Anaerobic digestion byproduct management.
Biogas cleanup and preparation of designs for end use.
Preparation of permit applications (water, air, solid waste).
Capital planning and cost estimating.
Written reports.
Internal and External Oral Presentations.
Training/Mentoring staff.
Business Development.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or other related engineering program from an accredited university.
PE license preferred.
Minimum 7 years related experience, 3 years experience in biogas engineering preferred.
Available for travel and field work (approximately 15% travel)
