We’re growing our UK business and have exciting opportunities for experienced and motivated industry professionals to join us as we continue our journey to help make clients successful. We have a specific opportunity for an experienced EPC project manager to join our team, working on a variety of transmission & distribution projects across all voltage ranges across the UK. This role will head up our project execution function, initially establishing the Burns & McDonnell project execution systems and process in the UK, building on the strong capability from the US. The role will be responsible for managing our supply chain partners and supporting the front-end work winning activity as well as overseeing the project delivery on site through our construction and delivery supply chain partners.

To succeed in this role the successful candidate will have experience of leading and managing teams in the power transmission and distribution industry in Scotland. This includes a strong understanding of design processes, project financial management, NEC contracts and delivery of EPC projects (Will have been a project manager of EPC projects previously).

Provide oversight over all aspects of project execution for transmission & distribution projects as allocated
Help to build a world class project delivery capability in Scotland and assist to recruit project staff as we grow the business

Technical responsibilities
Demonstrate leadership on all aspects of safety and CDM compliance and understanding for projects in your portfolio
Develop bid stage technical solutions with partners and engineering team.
Lead the preparation of EPC proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations
The role will advise on value engineering and constructability reviews, provide construction management oversight including project controls
Support the project manager of EPC projects from tender to completion including coordinating the work of the support functions in commercial, engineering, project controls and procurement.
Supports the accountable project manager and maintains awareness of the profit and loss of individual projects, adherence to schedule and establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the client, contractors and project stakeholders
Assist on project resourcing and contractor and supply chain management
Manage internal portfolio financials, resourcing, legal coordination, risk management
Serve as primary point of contact with clients regarding all aspects of the Burns & McDonnell business development and project delivery
Confirm deliverables and services are being provided to client’s satisfaction
Report regularly on progress, cost and schedule, procurement, safety, environmental, other risk and any issues requiring office support.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution. Educational requirement may be substituted with equivalent years of experience.
Must have the right interpersonal skills and communication skills to build a culture of trust across the business.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience working within the power T & D sector
Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Project Manager.
Experience of working as a tier 1 contractor to SSEN Transmission.
Experience of working with SPEN
The ability to thrive in pressure situations.
Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
Be able to work on own initiative.
Highly computer literate across the normal MS Office applications.
Must have strong commercial awareness and understand processed related to cost management and forecasting.
Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively, particularly to external parties such as the client, their customers and local authorities
