Burns & McDonnell EPC Manager - Transmission & Distribution (Chicago) in Chicago, Illinois

Description

We are seeking to hire a Project Manager within our Transmission and Distribution Global Practice in our Chicago, Illinois regional office.

  • Directs and coordinates bidding, negotiation, and project execution activities of several disciplines on engineer, procure, construct (EPC) projects of moderate to large scope or a combination of smaller EPC projects.

  • Duties include direct coordination with Transmission and Distribution clients, contractors, material suppliers, and other external stakeholders.

  • Additional responsibilities include supervision and coordination of multidiscipline engineering, permitting, procurement, and construction management teams.

  • Responsible for overall project management, project planning, scheduling, resource management, budgeting and establishing and meeting critical project objectives.

  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.

  • Identify opportunities and manage team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiation, and related activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field from an accredited curriculum is preferred.

  • Minimum 7 years related experience, including 3 or more years managing engineer, procure, and construct projects.

  • Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of project-related matters.

  • Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • The ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.

  • Demonstrated success in project management.

  • Proficiency in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.EEO/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans
