Burns & McDonnell Dirt Equipment Operator (Mt. Carbon - Morrison, CO) ($35.00/hr) in Denver, Colorado

Description

Summary:

Responsibilities include operating various power driven construction equipment such as, but not limited to, cherry- picker, crane, hoists, derricks, shovels, tractors, backhoe, bulldozer, scrappers or motor graders, dragline, front-end loader which are used to excavate, move and grade search, erect structural and reinforcing steel.

Acceptable reasoning ability usually associated with this classification:

  • The ability to apply principles of rational system to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, and diagrammatic or schedule form.

Acceptable math ability usually associated with this classification:

  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole nwnbers, fractions, decimals, and metrics; to calculate surfaces, volume, weights, and measures. Use formulas as found in Industry Approved Trade handbooks.

Acceptable language ability usually associated with this classification:

  • The ability to read and comprehend safety signs and instructions in English; read and understand instructions in English in the correct use and care of tools and equipment; read and understand "Warning Labels" in English that are placed on various containers; also, read procedures in English in mechanical drawing and layout work. The ability to write reports in English with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar.

Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked

  • Read engineering drawings

  • Make decisions based on variable standards

  • Read hand signs provided by workers while moving, turning, swinging, lowering and raising materialswith equipment

  • May require certification and/or licensing
