Description
The Mechanical Drafting Technician will assist technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers to create world class detail on a variety of projects. This position will assist in developing computer-aided drafting design solutions.
Assist in designing various Mechanical/ Piping project designs including creating schematics, grid plan layouts, piping systems (Layout, Plan and ISO Drawings). Follow all company, client and project design and drafting standards.
Assist piping designer setup the mechanical/ piping CAD Configuration and required piping procedures at the beginning of the project.
Prepare new drawings and revise existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
Assist with a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components, and refining rough sketches.
Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected discipline.
Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
Assist with tasks utilizing standard drafting detail programs.
Assist in continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
Research solutions to project concerns and present solutions to design problems.
Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
Apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma and course work in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification or 1-year relevant drafting experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
Compensation Range
$22.50 - $25.00 / hr
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
