Burns & McDonnell Senior Architectural Project Manager - Manufacturing (Denver) in Denver, Colorado

Description

Burns & McDonnell is considered a leading consultant in the industrial and manufacturing industry. We have been and are engaged in manufacturing and industrial projects both large and small nationwide. The manufacturing department executes projects for many major aerospace manufacturing companies and other industrial clients.

We are seeking a Senior Architectural Project Manager with knowledge in Architectural design and construction of Science & Technology projects and/or manufacturing facilities. The selected candidate will direct and coordinate activities of several disciplines on projects of large scope or a combination of smaller to medium sized projects. Direct coordination with clients and initiation or assistance in contract negotiations or preparation will be required. Direction of project planning, budgeting and establishing critical project objectives will be necessary.

Successful candidate will be experienced in the design and construction of Science and Technology projects and/or manufacturing projects including:

  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards including UFC, IBC, NFPA, and ASHRAE.

  • Familiarity with industrial design and construction.

  • Familiarity with project controls necessary to execute design and construction.

  • Familiarity with LEED requirements.

  • Familiarity with Science and Technology projects

  • Articulate design principles to help govern the detailing phase of the project. Author and/or closely supervise details critical to the design concept. Lead presentation of design concepts.

  • Organize, plan and lead the design efforts of a multi-disciplinary team. Foster collaborative environment with the architectural and engineering disciplines, and internal construction teams.

  • Capable of providing leadership to a team that is performing a sequence of tasks.

  • Ability to instill motivation to the team to meet projected milestones and capable of adjusting the procedures to keep the progress on target.

  • Maintains good client relations.

  • Follows up on qualifying leads.

  • Contributes suggestions on business development.

  • Sufficient knowledge of marketing to assist in the preparation of proposals and /or presentations.

  • Foster and grow local network of clients and peers in the industry.

Candidate should be capable of executing complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel. Some marketing responsibilities are anticipated along with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

It is preferable that candidate is a Licensed Architect, or ability to obtain, NCARB certification with experience from other consulting firms and/or construction contractors. Minimum 7 years related experience; 12 years preferred.

Necessary attributes include: excellent written & verbal communication skills, and strong analytical/problem solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.

Salary Range

$95,000-$160,000

The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
