Burns & McDonnell Staff Transmission Line Engineer - Transmission and Distribution (Denver) in Denver, Colorado

Burns & McDonnell has an exciting opportunity in our Transmission and Distribution Group for a Staff Transmission Line Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Design of high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.

  • Preparation of construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure load diagrams, and foundation drawings.

  • Preparation of specifications and project design criteria.

  • Providing field support during construction.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Experience in HVDC is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering from accredited program.

  • 3 years related transmission line design experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).

  • 5 years of experience preferred.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experience in scheduling and budgeting.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Consulting or utility experience preferred.

Compensation Range

$80,000 - $110,000

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
