Burns & McDonnell Staff Equipment Engineer - Life Sciences (Greenville) in Greenville, South Carolina
Description
The Staff Equipment Engineer will be based in Greenville, SC and will work on project teams to create world class designs for new life sciences projects, alterations and redevelopments. The Staff Process Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting process plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.
Develop equipment deliverables for projects which include: data sheets, equipment specifications, equipment lists, purchase for requisitions, bid tabulations and equipment costs.
Able to work withing a project budget and schedule
Able to review and provide comments to process deliverables including P&IDs
Review and comments on vendor documents
Coordinate with other design disciplines
Able to communicate effectively with clients
Able to communicate and expedite vendors as required
Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.
Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design.
Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for clients.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
3 years of process engineering experience, consulting preferred.
Successful completion (i.e.passing) FE or EIT preferred.
Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
CADD skills preferred including AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM)
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
