Description
Associate Electrical Testing & Commissioning Specialist is responsible for directing commissioning and testing activities in the field for client projects across the nation.
Manage and recommend testing & commissioning solutions to the Project Manager and/or client.
Recommend and lead delivery of solutions to Project Manager and/or Senior Engineer to address future client needs and provide cost analysis on testing solutions.
Lead demonstration tests, as required, which are a series of functional tests designed to simulate real world conditions to ensure proper operation of project yard equipment.
Manage development and execution of substation equipment testing procedures.
Manage development of testing & commissioning departmental and project requirements.
Lead, advise and provide technical testing guidance to less experienced staff on large, complex projects.
Provide technical understanding and instruction to solve operational problems with regard to substation systems and electrical power systems.
Lead presentation of operational solutions and recommendations to the client.
Responsible for accurate and safe completion of the project's testing and commissioning activities on substation equipment.
Lead projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
Manage training, quality assurance and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations.
Responsible for compliance of QA/QC process and ensures the project technical requirements are met.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors in order to develop new business.
Manage and oversee marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power & Controls, or equivalent experience. Applicable experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
Requires nineteen years of applicable electrical testing experience.
Must have an expert understanding of electrical systems.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership skills, attention to safety, strong analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Must be expert in the use of test equipment and tools required.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
High level of attention to detail with previous responsibility to perform QC activities.
Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
Remain current on all safety and technical training.
Related consulting experience is required.
Ability to travel.
Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
