Burns & McDonnell Senior Right of Way Specialist - Environmental Services (Multiple Locations) in Houston, Texas

Description

The Senior Right of Way Specialist will lead the Right of Way staff in the facilitation of land acquisitions, negotiations, property research, titles and surveys. This includes permitting activities, construction coordination, and restoration on Right of Way projects in a variety of locations. Position will require approximately 40% travel.

  • Manage project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and establishing critical project objectives.

  • Assist client with benchmarking project deliverables.

  • Lead Right of Way team in analyzing, preparing, reviewing, and interpreting Land and Right of Way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses for small to medium sized projects.

  • Manage team efforts including database management, meetings, and reports.

  • Lead all Right of Way staff to meet project deliverables.

  • Manage the preparation of presentations for public involvement meetings.

  • Initiate and lead contract preparation and negotiations.

  • Manage project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and establishing critical project objectives.

  • Manage marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.

  • Train and mentor staff.

  • Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.

  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • SR/WA designation from the International Right of Way Association (IRWA).

  • Minimum 8 years related experience.

  • Real Estate License preferred.

  • Prior Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience required, preferrably in a consulting firm.

  • Expert ability to interpret title and appraisal reports and land surveys required.

  • Expert knowledge of general real estate law.

  • Expert knowledge of real estate title work.

  • Expert oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience presenting in public meetings.

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers and other professionals.

  • Expert in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
