Description
The Applications Engineer will work with the global practice to develop and advance corporate software technology and tools. This position will work throughout the development and implementation process according to organization budget constraints and internal and external client needs.
Duties:
Utilize the following specialized applications and tools to assist GP management and project teams as described below:
Microsoft Power Apps
Power Automate
Power BI
Power Apps
Power VA
Microsoft SharePoint
Microsoft Graph API and 3rd party data connectors
SQL
JSON
Additional software tools as they become available or deemed useful
Work with division management and project teams to evaluate existing business processes and workflows to propose, develop, and deploy new software solutions to stakeholders
Develop new software and technology to optimize business processes, workflows, and data management. Work directly with end-users to solicit feedback.
Develop and publish business reports and dashboards with existing and new datasets.
Develop training documentation and train personnel as required for newly developed applications and reports
Coordinate with division personnel and power users of GP design tools such as Smart Plant, Autodesk applications, and various engineering tools.
Assist in configuring security and automation flow routines within applications.
Assists with research and compiles project-related data as required by the project managers.
Assist disciplines and different business units in developing software and technology to optimize business processes and deliverables, provide seamless integration, and improve data management.
Apply basic knowledge of Burns & McDonnell Safety and Quality Control programs. Escalate risk related to compliance with company and customer policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology, computer science, or related degree.
Basic knowledge of software development and programming experience preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of related experience is preferred. Consulting experience in the architectural, engineering and/or construction industries is preferred.
Basic knowledge of software and hardware system architecture required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
