Description
The Assistant IT Systems Specialist is responsible for the implementation, administration, and monitoring of the compute, storage, backup, virtual, and cloud-based solutions for the company.
Develop, research, and implement systems software including operating systems, utilities, and other tools required to run the operations environment.
Manage and optimize the efficiency, availability, and serviceability of the compute environment to include server and virtual desktop instance (VDI) platforms.
Analyze, recommend, implement, and manage the server, storage, and backup environments.
Research and identify new software releases or solutions for the operating systems and storage environments.
Consults with development teams on the operating environment before and after applications are placed in production.
Demonstrated ability to perform system and platform version upgrades to ensure support compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP-(DCV/CMA)) certification preferred
MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification preferred.
Technical expertise in computer equipment, storage, back-ups, operating systems, and tools used in an operating environment required.
Ability to work independently, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
