Burns & McDonnell Audio Visual Technician in Kansas City, Missouri
The Audio Visual (AV) Technician will work closely within functional teams to deliver audio-visual services to our clients across the United States, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, customer commitment, a sense of urgency, and continuous improvement. This position will provide technical advice and support to help employee-owners use Burns & McDonnell audio-visual enabled facilities and services effectively.
Perform regular preventative maintenance and monitoring of all AV-enabled spaces at Technician's local site, including all Video Conferencing infrastructure located within corporate data centers.
Perform AV support during presentations and company-sponsored events. Events may occur over the lunch hour, on weekends, before, and after typical business hours.
Perform setup and execution of video conferences.
Perform regular training and education to Burns & McDonnell employee-owners on the usage of AV systems.
Resolve any issues in AV-enabled spaces to complete resolution, including coordination with AV integration partners on hardware warranty, control system programming, or cabling issues.
Perform coordination of AV integration partners for design and implementation of corporate AV standards in any corporate office relocation, remodel, or expansion.
Perform acceptance testing for any AV integrated control system for all new installations, moves, or changes. Acceptance testing must be made in person, including regional and field office locations, even if another local IT resource is available at that site.
Work with management, key stakeholders, and AV integration partners to develop AV standard configurations that meet the needs of Burns & McDonnell.
Perform installation of basic, standard, AV spaces when schedule or cost prohibits use of AV integration partner.
Work with Burns & McDonnell Global Practices to provide AV consulting on client-based AV questions, as requested.
Research asset management tasks by completing appropriate documentation, keeping inventories of active equipment, and providing for the disposition of returned technology assets.
Provide support to customers in all Burns & McDonnell locations via phone, video, e-mail, and in-person.
Respond to trouble tickets logged in the system when related to AV. Follow internal procedures for logging and documenting AV-related issues, including creating, resolving, and closing tickets.
Perform remote connections that are unavailable or unhelpful in diagnosing issues.
Resolve issues due to hardware failure.
Work on incidents assigned from other IT groups when their secondary troubleshooting has indicated a root cause related to areas of responsibility held by A/V Specialist.
Work on incidents from non-IT sources through e-mail, phone, or walk-up.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, etc. Applicable years of experience may be maybe substituted for the degree requirement.
Excellent audio visual skills, including data analysis abilities.
