Burns & McDonnell Enterprise Cloud Architect in Kansas City, Missouri
1898 & Co. is seeking an experienced Enterprise Cloud Architect to provide Application/Technology Architecture Solutions and Services to our clients. The selected candidate will join The Global Enterprise Systems Business Line, which focuses on providing our Clients a variety of Consulting Services, Offerings, Capabilities, and Strategies, delivering high value to our clients through a variety of leading technologies and practice disciplines. The Enterprise Cloud Architect shall possess strong cloud, application, and general technology architectural, data analytical, middleware practices, and general technical skills to work with our clients to design and implement core cloud enterprise solutions. They must have strong project execution capabilities, strong leadership and collaboration capabilities, excellent communication skills, be focused on continuous improvement and Enterprise Innovation, and have strong attention to detail while delivering high-quality work to our clients. The Enterprise Cloud Architect is responsible for providing strategic guidance, road mapping, research, planning, and best practices to our client’s executive leaders to make investment decisions that align with the long-term vision of the organization.
This position will lead and execute a variety of Enterprise Cloud Architecture solutions-related work for Burns & McDonnell clients. The position will lead efforts to identify and deliver Enterprise Cloud Architecture services that support Solutions to our clients with a strong emphasis on teamwork, customer commitment, industry best practices, and continuous improvement.
Apply industry experience and best practices to architect, design, develop, and implement Enterprise Cloud Architecture solutions to support complex business requirements.
Serve as the Enterprise Cloud Architect Strategic expert to create Enterprise Cloud Strategies for our clients that clearly communicate industry best practices that support our client’s business and technology objectives.
Apply knowledge and expertise of current and emerging technology architectures and supporting middleware integration technologies and data practices to develop and deliver quality Enterprise Cloud solutions in both Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) domains to meet client objectives.
Serve as Enterprise Cloud Architecture Expert on projects executed for Electric Transmission/Distribution/Generation/Telecom, Municipal Government, Federal Government, Airport and Facilities industries.
Meet and work with Burns & McDonnell’s business analysts and clients to translate business requirements into Enterprise Application/Technology solutions and services.
Assist with preparation of Enterprise Cloud solution proposals, including the development of technical specifications, technical approach, team qualifications, cost estimates, and schedules in response to a client request for proposals.
Actively participate on Enterprise Cloud Architecture-related technical committees and professional organizations to promote and expand Burns & McDonnell’s architecture capabilities, experience, and solutions, providing thought leadership.
Ability to lead our clients through high-level Enterprise Cloud journey discussions and discovery strategies pertaining to the electric utility industry, focusing on IT and OT Applications and Technologies.
Identify, write, and present Enterprise Cloud Architecture Strategies and technical papers, white papers, and presentations.
Mentor and provide technical guidance and leadership to junior staff members.
Use Architecture (Application/Technology/Data) experience and knowledge to provide input and influence project execution processes and quality assurance/quality control protocols.
Responsible for participating in and leading the Enterprise Cloud Services portion of sales pursuits and proposal development.
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

Education: BS in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or MIS.
Experience: 10 years plus in IT and/or business-related roles and led large project/software implementation. PMI certification is helpful.
