Burns & McDonnell Geospatial Analyst - Technology Consulting in Kansas City, Missouri
Description
The Geospatial Analyst will assist with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consulting projects supporting utilities, government organizations, and manufacturing clients. This role will assist with geospatial analysis by supporting projects and developing new business opportunities. The Geospatial Analyst will assist with project scoping, system architecture design, developing content, technical demonstrations, and providing content for proposals.
Assist with GIS analysis and data development for client projects while supporting both internal and external project teams.
Assist with project development of GIS system configuration and requirements.
Assist with the development of technical specifications, project approaches, project cost estimates and project schedules.
Assist with implementation of new geospatial software or programs.
Assist with research on geospatial studies and analyses.
Assist in the projections and transformations for geospatial project deliverables.
Assist with ad hoc analysis and recommendations to meet or exceed the business goals, quality, billability, and utilization.
Assist with quality assurance and quality control of deliverables to adhere to client and project requirements.
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or closely related natural science field.
Master's degree in a similar field may be substituted for one year of experience.
Minimum of 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Involvement on campus or in the community.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
Basic software and computer skills required including, ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro environments.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
