Burns & McDonnell Marketing / Proposal Intern - Water Group (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
The Marketing/Proposal Intern will interact with various staff at all levels in an ever-changing, deadline-driven environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Marketing/Proposal Intern will assist all marketing and proposal efforts in this role, including proposal management and presentation support, internal communication, and maintaining sales and marketing assets in our Blue Key CRM and Open Asset programs. This will be an in-office position at our Headquarters in Kansas City
Assists in preparing information and materials for submittals, presentations and proposals.
Assists with maintaining and cataloging assets in Open Asset (program). Cataloging tasks include documenting photography permission rights, keyword tagging, CC Library updates, etc.
Assists proposal closeout tasks.
Assist with implementation of brand guidelines into all projects.
Assists with internal marketing communications using MacCentral (SharePoint).
Attends and supports project meetings, brings necessary documents, and provides a comprehensive recap and next steps to the internal team.
Assists with collation and distribution of weekly digital and email marketing reports.
Complies client status reports and marketing calendars.
Assists in tracking expectations on timing and budget and notifies supervisor of relevant fluctuations.
Maintains contact with the internal client to ensure projects are completed correctly and actively seeks feedback.
Assists in coordinating marketing functions, special events and conferences.
Participates in marketing training sessions to improve marketing, communications, digital and content marketing knowledge.
Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
All other duties as assigned.
Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field.
Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
