Burns & McDonnell Process CAD Technician - Oil Gas & Chemical (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
The Process CAD Technician will assist technical teams of detailers, designers and engineers to create world class detail on a variety of projects. This position will assist in developing computer- aided drafting design solutions.
Prepare new drawings and revise exisiting engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standars and procedures.
Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected discipline.
Assist in the tasks utilizing standard drafting detial programs.
Assist in continous drafting detail improvement efforts.
Research solutions to project concerns and present solutions to design problems.
Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
All other duties as assigned.
High school diploma and course work in CAD technology or specialized CAD certification or 1-year relevant experience.
Associate's degree or bachelors degree in computer aided drafting and design preffered.
Entry-level position (zero to two years of professional CAD experience).
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong probelm solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work in collaborative team environment.
Mastered basic commands of at least one type of CAD system (ability to occasionally use higher-level commands, timesaving programs and routines).
Candidates must be legally authorized to work, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship, in the country where the position is located, for the duration of the position.
