Burns & McDonnell Proposal Coordinator - Transmission & Distribution Marketing (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
The Proposal Coordinator is responsible for assisting the proposal plan the Request For Proposal (RFP) release and the process including end game, and checkmate for assigned business development proposals to obtain work for the company. This position will assist proposal development efforts in collaboration with business development and project management leadership to develop distinctive value propositions that enhance our clients' competitive positions.
Assist with the proposal plan, draft storyboards, development of proposal/win strategy, proposal team assignments, and initial proposal management plan.
Assist with pink team review and adjust marketing materials in response to review results and requests.
Assist with the review of the go/no-go decision, official proposal kickoff meeting, and the development of graphics and visuals.
Support the development of metrics ie; Change orders, safety, budget, schedule, diversity goals, and community involvement activities.
Attend professional association meetings and conferences; and build professional network.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related degree is required.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills: verbal, technical writing and creative writing as well as proofreading and editing.
High level of attention to detail.
Must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk and stand.
Ability to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Must be able to lift and or move up to 20 pounds.
Requires the ability to collect and analyze information to make decisions. Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems; the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities; the ability to read; the ability to articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others; the ability to work under stressful situations, good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time. Must have the ability to understand and apply written/verbal instructions.
