Description
Burns & McDonnell with world headquarters in Kansas City, MO, is looking for a Civil or Environmental Engineer to add to our Environmental Services Engineering team. Typical projects on this team would include solid waste management, biogas, stormwater quality management, site development and remediation.

The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with experience and skill to support and/or lead the following types of activities:
Facility planning, permitting, design, and site development as senior project engineer and/or project manager.
Execution of biogas feasibility studies, process design development, and equipment procurement packages
Planning and analysis including, but not limited to, financial studies, procurement assistance, waste characterization, education and outreach, zero waste studies, and long-range strategic plans.
Directing and reviewing work products prepared by junior engineering staff including: Hydrology & Hydraulics Reports, SWPPPs, LID design, WQMPs, Cost Estimates, and related calculations, designs, evaluations, and specifications
Executing civil engineering methods and practices in the preparation of bid-ready engineering designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports
Using design programs such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, MicroStation, etc.
Other duties, as assigned.
Duties may also include:
Managing accuracy, budgets, quality, safety, reporting, schedule, and client expectations
Supporting a wide variety of environmental compliance and sustainability related engineering projects
Internal and External Oral Presentations.
Training / Mentoring staff.
Developing new and maintaining existing client and regulatory relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering program from an accredited university
Minimum 7 years of related professional experience required
PE license
40-hr HAZWOPER certification preferred
Excellent communication skills: verbal and technical writing
Available for project related and marketing travel, as needed
