Burns & McDonnell Senior Integration Coordinator - Integration Services (Multiple Locations) in Kansas City, Missouri
Description
The Senior Integration Coordinator will lead project teams to support the installation of rack or wall mount electronic equipment, make ready cabling, field engineering support, commissioning, and start-up solutions for project deliverables for client Networks, Integration & Automation (NIA) projects throughout the nation.
Lead intermediate scope pre-engineering site visits per defined checklists.
Lead testing checklists of cables, pinouts, fiber, feedline, automation points, etc. using applicable tools to include test fiber optic cables, toggle and test automation points at cutouts, test terminals, trace cables; ringtone if cable without tone, butt set for cable with tone, conduct loopback tests to remote ends, test radio feedline for coax and waveguide on device-based, electronic and application tests.
Lead intermediate physical changes based on design specifications: inside building fiber, copper cabling via existing raceway, install rack- or wall-mount devices, jumper fiber, copper cables to devices / FDPs / patch panels, install/remove device SFPs, punch down low-voltage cables (66/110 blocks, RJ11 for phones, wire-wrap), etc.
Lead troubleshooting on device-based, electronic and application tests making changes as needed to meet client specifications.
Lead installation changes to and load device configurations based on troubleshooting.
Lead site commissioning and client application verification according to industry accepted standards.
Lead the review and update of advanced level as-built documentation for publication to client.
Responsible for physical quality of installation based on design standards and client specifications.
Lead assessment of physical installation readiness for commissioning based on design specifications.
Lead powering on of devices using standard panel breaker and rack fuses.
Execute visual confirmation of successful device turn-up.
Lead connection to devices and load base configurations per industry standards.
Lead quality review and update necessary, physical level as-built documentation to meet client requirements.
Establish and maintain relationships with client field staff on scope, progress, and return of removed devices. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
Prepare and present technical reports for clients.
Participate in sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced staff.
Lead QA/QC process adherence.
Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate/bachelors degree in information technology/systems, electrical/electronics, field/construction engineering or related degree preferred. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Minimum 10 years experience in mission-critical environments (military, utility, industrial, transportation, etc.) or related field required.
Expert understanding of electrical and communications systems and industry standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Ability to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad assignments and devise new approaches to problems encountered.
Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Must be able to meet the company's driving requirements.
Physical:
Work locations could include office-based or construction jobsites ranging from commerical to heavy industrial environments that include working in adverse climates, and extensive walking, requiring stairs, passenger use of personal hoists, negotiating work areas under construction, climbing permanent and temporary ladders, occasional lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to sit, talk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend. Specific vision abilities required for this job includes: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear and perceive the nature of sounds by ear. Must be able to safely operate motor vehicles. May at times need to access confined spaces or work locations at elevation requiring utilization of respirators, self-contained breathing apparatus, and/or fall protection.
Projects require occasional long hours and infrequent days off, occasional night shifts or moderate to long periods of working consecutive nights.
