Description
The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work of government, military, and commercial aviation facilities. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the client, manages and mentors junior staff, and assists with integrating interior design concepts with architectural and engineering systems.
Lead designer for interior design of government, military, and commercial aviation projects.
Lead a team of junior interior design staff in the development and execution of projects.
Work within a project team of architects and engineers, meeting with clients to assess needs and develop space programs for projects.
Assist with the marketing efforts in pursuing architectural / interior design work.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program. (CIDA accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design is highly preferred.)
Minimum 8 years related experience.
A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills.
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.
Experience in Revit required.
Experience in 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumin is preferred.
Experience with government and military design standards is preferred.
