Burns & McDonnell Senior IT Business Partner - Corporate IT (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The Senior Information Technology Business Partner (ITBP) serves as the liaison between assigned business units and the subject matter experts (SMEs) and leaders within the Information Technology Department. This role will directly contribute to the IT Team’s mission to deliver competitive information technology services that satisfy emerging Burns & McDonnell business needs. The ITBP will operate as the key IT point of contact with business unit Executives, Department Managers, and Project Managers by developing and maintaining strong relationships. The position will be in-office located at our World Headquarters in Kansas City.

Job Duties

  • Establish and maintain relationships with business unit Executives, Directors, Department Managers, and Project Managers.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with all IT Leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • Collaborate with business unit leadership to develop and execute strategic technology roadmaps to meet business goals.

  • Partner with IT service providers to obtain a working knowledge of all IT services, processes, and policies and ensure business units can maximize their use

  • Leverage IT processes to document and manage escalations that result from close relationships with business leaders.

  • Understand business unit challenges and recommend or develop effective technology solutions.

  • Identify and evaluate alternative solutions and services for required IT services not currently offered by the Burns & McDonnell IT Department.

  • Build relationships that result in visibility to new investment opportunities for technology and services that satisfy emerging business needs.

  • Collaborate with other Corporate Services teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or applicable years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience working in a technology related field.

  • Ability to connect technology solutions to business needs

  • Ability to build strong relationships and provide excellent customer service.

  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly present complex information.

  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong ability to ascertain customer concerns, consider alternatives and provide customers guidance to solve their questions.
