Burns & McDonnell Senior Project Engineer (Facility Focus) - Pipelines (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
Description
The Burns & McDonnell office in Kansas City is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to lead pipeline facility project teams for a variety of natural gas facility projects.
Major responsibilities for the Senior Pipeline Facility Engineer include:
Develop business and relationships with clients
Lead in the execution of engineering activities
Pipeline facility design (metering and regulating stations, storage field upgrades, and compressor stations) including plans, sections, detail, associated bill of materials, and related pipeline design
Coordination to obtain survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, land acquisition.
Calculations for studies and reports
Material and equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing
Lead in preparation of proposals and scope development, including
Conceptual designs and execution plans
Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules
Lead coordination of design activities with other disciplines (Pipeline, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.)
Develop and improve processes, tools and/or factory acceptance testing
Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members
Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel
Provide short term field support during construction
Support business development and marketing initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited program
Minimum of 7 years related experience (completion of master’s degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)
Profession Engineer registration strongly preferred
Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8. Preference for familiarity with 49 CFR Part 195 and ASME B31.4
Strong preference for those with:
Experience and connections within the natural gas utility industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Capability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures, and criteria
