The Project Director is responsible for the operational, managerial direction and leadership of Global Facillaties Services team. This includes supporting and executing business strategy, building and developing high performing teams, and promoting the Burns & McDonnell culture, values, and mission. Support practice growth in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell’s core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety and overall outstanding service.

  • Responsible for developing and executing Global Practice and/or corresponding Regional Office Global Practice strategies and goals.

  • Well established Client network in the relevant sectors in the UK and Europe

  • Responsible for maintaining and advancing internal relationships.

  • Develops marketing strategies and pricing strategies, and sales and customer retention strategies; initiates or assists in proposal development and contract negotiations.

  • Support initiatives for sales, revenue and income goals for the Global Practice. Responsible for corresponding with Global Practice leadership in the corporate office.

  • Achieves stated targets and standards for financial performance.

  • Manages department budgets.

  • Responsible for ensuring that tools and resources are distributed effectively and efficiently across all departments.

  • Provide leadership to the team; directs and coordinates activities of several disciplines.

  • Serves as technical advisor.

  • Participates in development of and communicates policies, purposes, and goals of Global Practice and/or Regional Office.

  • Career coaching, leadership planning and development, and the planning and delivery of training and education.

  • Responsible for reviewing resource requirements with Department and Section Managers and help obtain necessary resources.

  • Overall management of Department Managers, technical experts, and administrative employees.

  • Recruit, hire, develop and retain outstanding employee-owners.

  • Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for selected department and/or direct reports.

  • Adheres to and is responsible for Burns & McDonnell Quality Control and Safety programs.

  • Support diversity initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BEng in a relevant engineering area.

  • Qualified membership of relevant professional body, e.g. ICE, IET.

  • Min 20 years of experince in the industry.

  • 12 years’ minimum experience working within Mission Critical, Manufactiruing or similar sectors.

  • Expert at managing projects, including proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Knowledge of technical standards and client specifications highly desirable.

  • IT literate, with good knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications.

  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, including the use of scheduling tools and systems.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, planning, and analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Great ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

  • Pro-active in building knowledge and understanding of the industry.

  • Ability to make an effective and collaborative contribution to the team through sharing knowledge, promoting ideas, and valuing the contribution of all team members.
