Burns & McDonnell India’s Water Global Practice in Mumbai India is seeking to hire Process Designers proficient in Smart Plant P&ID to support globally renowned projects in the Oil, Gas and Chemical industry. This role will offer a wide range of design & project execution experience. To grow our team and to support upcoming projects, we are hiring experienced personnel in our Process Department. The roles and responsibilities for this position will also include the following:

  • Work in the design software Smart Plant P&ID, AutoCAD, MicroStation, AutoCAD Plant 2D, Plant 3D, Aveva, and Excel to develop design deliverables.

  • Experienced drafting and checking drafting drawings for process flow diagrams (PFD), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and bidirectional flow diagrams (BFD)

  • Communicate clearly with the engineer to support any tasks and queries.

  • Should be able to perform soft and hard quality control.

  • Provide third party quality review checks to support multiple project teams.

Qualifications

The candidate should have Diploma in Chemical/mechanical engineering along with Professional Drafting Diploma completed from an accredited program and have 8 to 13 years of relevant experience. Additional qualifications include the following:

  • Advanced understanding and proficient experience of design software such as Smart Plant P&ID, Plant 3D. Hand-on experience, Navisworks, Smart Plant Review, LFM and Excel to develop design deliverables is preferred, and strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Is a logical thinker and independently solve problems and queries.

  • Demonstrate Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building and collaboration.

  • Capability of solving design problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures, and criteria’s.

  • Provide training and mentoring to less experienced designers and team members.

  • Experience leading designer teams, and is a strong leader and easily identifies design tasks to delegate to the team.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have strong communication skills and does not hesitate to ask questions with an eagerness to learn.

  • Proficiency in English language is preferred.
