Description
Burns & McDonnell India (BMI) Energy Division is looking for a well-rounded and driven Project Engineer in the Mumbai Office. The Energy Division focuses on power generating facilities which offer a wide range of design and project execution experiences.This position is responsible forproviding a full range of project management services on various Energy projects. Demonstrate independent decision-making skills in handling a multi-discipline project execution team by coordinating with consultants or client(s).
Position will require extensive interface with project managers, engineering disciplines, modelers, designers, and detailerslocally in the Mumbai officeas well as remotely in various offices in the United States.
The Project Engineer will manage, direct and coordinate all aspects of work and is responsible for the profit and loss of individual projects and the successful completion of projects within specified dates. The Project Engineeris also responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the owner, subcontractors, regulatory agencies and other project stakeholders. Following are some specific duties & responsibilities:
Prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
Provide overall management of projects from concept to completion including siting, planning, estimating, engineering, project controls, bid phase services, procurement, constructability reviews and closeout.
Learn and effectively use BMI’s project management software Ecosysto setup and manage various projects.
Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs.
Assist with internal project financials, staffing, change management, and human resource issues.
Serve as primary point of contact for all project engineering activities.
Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to the client’s satisfaction and that projects follow internal QA/QC guidelines.
Report regularly on progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential impacts, and any issues requiring office support.
Support multiple projects in coordinating with remote client facing team in US starting from project handover through complete delivery of the project as per the contract terms.
Regularly meeting and corresponding with clients or outside personnel;
Travel to the United States as required and requested to support assignments on projects and overall office needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree inEngineering from an accredited program.
Minimum of 5-7 years project management or engineering design experience with minimum 3-4 years of experience within power generation industry and a single company preferred.
Proven track record of managing big facility projects from conceptual design phase through commissioning is a must. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
