Burns & McDonnell is actively recruiting Senior Architects with 8 years of experience to help shape our Mission Critical / Commercial / Higher Ed Studio in our well established Chicago office. This position offers unique opportunities for both personal and professional growth by offering a wide-range of project responsibilities and team leadership roles. The ideal candidate will be a team-leading, highly-motivated individual seeking progressively more responsible assignments. Architecture at Burns & McDonnell is a different. Every studio has a goal to not only deliver design excellence but construct it! Senior Architects with a desire to lead a multidisciplinary team which includes in-house engineers, scientists and builders are encouraged to apply!
Provide project team leadership and coordination for finished plans, specification, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documentation.
Mentor and lead teams in the production of accurate technical and contract documentation for project construction.
Mentor and lead construction administration duties including; bid review and support, site visits, address technical issues, and improve quality during construction.
Work with government and regulatory agencies to achieve overall project schedule and objectives.
Manage, mentor and recruit talent including resources to produce 3D software renderings and critical presentations.
Bachelor's degree in architecture from accredited program.
Minimum 4 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
Previous consulting experience preferred.
Proficient in Autocad & Microstation.
Demonstrated progress toward becoming a Registered Architect.
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Connecticut Public Act 21-30, An Act Concerning the Disclosure of Salary Range for Vacant Positions. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
