Burns & McDonnell Federal Infrastructure Project Manager (Mid-Atlantic Region) in Norfolk, Virginia

Description

Burns & McDonnell is looking for a federal infrastructure Project Manager to continue our strong regional presence to service federal clients in the design and delivery of marine infrastructure projects.

This Project Manager will be responsible for the successful completion of larger and smaller value projects as part of an annual portfolio of projects. Additionally, this Project Manager will:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of several disciplines on projects.

  • Manage project delivery, including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, meeting budget objectives, and communicating and meeting deadlines.

  • Project manage and pursue a wide variety of waterfront infrastructure projects.

  • Oversee proposal development for project pursuits.

  • Assist in the direction of project planning, budgeting and in establishing project critical path objectives

  • Manage project resources and sub-consultants.

  • Develop pursuit strategy, capture plan development, go/no-go decisions to pre-sell projects before RFP release.

  • Participate in necessary regional trade associations and professional organizations.

  • Will support the development and contracting of new pursuits, then execute projects in support of identified Burns & McDonnell client/s.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture and/or engineering.

  • Minimum 7 years related experience, including experience in the design and delivery of port and marine projects with an emphasis on government or military design, infrastructure, and facilities, port security, marine environments and environmental permitting.

  • Must have ability to deal effectively with government contracts on project-related matters.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to quickly build long-term connections with internal and external clients by networking.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving and project finance skills.

  • Previous consulting experience preferred.

  • Professional Registration preferred.
