Burns & McDonnell Staff Electrical Engineers (Phoenix) in Phoenix, Arizona
Description
·Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
·Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: substation, distribution, power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
·Design electrical components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
·Applies strong knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
·Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers.
·Work with team of engineers to update drawings and verify corrections are made during QA/QC process.
·Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, distribution, process, pipeline, industrial, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
·Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
·Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year.
·Travel required up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications
·Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology\*, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of electrical engineering experience.
·An Engineering Technology field must be accompanied with completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following:
·Proficient use of Excel for data analysis and fundamental calculations
·Electrical standard engineering techniques and procedures.
·Development of one-line diagrams, three-lines diagrams, cable schedule, connection diagrams, protection schematics, and other electrical design drawings.
·Perform voltage drop and AC/DC equipment sizing calculations.
·Develop and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets.
·Perform qualify reviews on wiring diagrams.
·Direct discipline and overall engineering design efforts for engineering-only substation Projects
·Alternatively, the employer will also accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology\\, or a directly related field plus two (2) years of electrical engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of described experience.
·An Engineering Technology field must be accompanied with completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
·Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year.
·Travel required up to 50% of the time.
