Burns & McDonnell is looking for a Project Manager in the Environmental Services Global Practice to join Raleigh, North Carolina office to lead solid waste, Coal Combustion Residual (CCR), and environmental engineering projects for a variety of industry types including transportation, renewable energy, electrical utility, and others. Burns & McDonnell is seeking a motivated self-starter to help grow our Environmental Services practice. The successful candidate will be a seller-doer with demonstrated experience developing and supporting multiple projects from an environmental engineering and remediation perspective as well as managing and completing independent projects. These activities may include proposal development, marketing, developing permitting strategies and schedules, providing technical experience in the development of client deliverables, negotiating with regulatory agencies, managing subcontractors, contracts, schedules, and budgets.

Join a well-established Raleigh-based regional team as we grow our services in the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic. This individual will enhance our existing environmental engineering presence in the region working closely with established clients across multiple markets. Additionally, the ideal candidate will help expand our environmental engineering services and client base in the region.
The Project Manager will work within an integrated team within our Environmental Engineering group in the Environmental Services Global Practice (division) to perform the following duties:
Performing project management responsibilities for solid waste, Coal Combustion Residual (CCR), and environmental engineering projects.
Act as a technical resource for projects related to CCR
Client and business development and networking
Assisting with and leading proposal and cost estimating efforts for environmental engineering and CCR projects.
Regularly interface with various agencies, clients and team members
Mentoring and generally working closely with junior level environmental staff
Assist with recruiting, development, and training of staff.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a natural resources or environmental discipline from an accredited program.
Minimum of 7 years (10 years preferred) of experience with solid waste and CCR related projects.
Experience with project management, environmental regulation, and agency coordination (EPA, state agencies, etc.) is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information and work effectively with various audiences (including public officials, agency representatives, property owners, businesses, clients, construction contractors, etc.).
Demonstrated knowledge of environmental engineering methods, permitting process, and construction compliance.
Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
Ability to travel up to 25%, as required.
