Burns & McDonnell Environmental Services Project Manager (Mid-Atlantic Region) in Richmond, Virginia

Description

This position is a Project Manager role in our Mid-Atlantic Region for Environmental Services delivery. Directs and coordinates activities of several disciplines on a project of moderate scope or a combination of smaller projects. Direct coordination with clients and other external clients. May initiate or assist in contract negotiations or preparation. Assist in direction of project planning, budgeting and establishing critical project objectives.

  • Manage project planning including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, communicating and managing deadlines and establishing and performing to critical project objectives.

  • Identify new market and client opportunities and key projects. Facilitate early sales strategies to maximize our chances of being selected and meet with the client to determine gaps, drivers and influences on selection.

  • Develop sales messages that bring value to clients.

  • Coordinate pre-marketing activities and production of requested responses and follow-up with clients for improvements to our responses (despite outcomes).

  • Conduct go/no-go evaluations, ensure establishment of project work plans and review fee estimates.

  • Develop and implement project execution, quality and financial controls specific to Environmental projects and practice.

  • Lead the contract negotiations process for projects after selection.

  • Serve as Client Coordinator for targeted clients, taking primary responsibility for ultimate delivery of services and client satisfaction.

  • Direct coordination with clients and other external clients.

  • Ensure profitable and sound growth. Achieve stated targets and standards for project financial performance.

  • Adhere to Burns & McDonnell's Quality Control Program and maintain Burns & McDonnell's Safety Program.

  • Serve as the technical advisor; provide senior-level input on projects.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or related field from an accredited curriculum.

  • Minimum 7 years related experience, including 3 or more years managing engineering or architectural projects.

  • Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Professional Registration preferred.
