Burns & McDonnell, is looking for a Stormwater Engineer with a wide variety of related experience to add to our Environmental Services Engineering team. As a professional within our Environmental Services Practice, this position will support the development and growth of our stormwater engineering-related services and engineering team as well as participate in a wide variety of environmental engineering projects. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and have the following experience:
Providing technical solutions for challenges with stormwater management, low impact development, and both stormwater quantity and quality.
Performing hydrologic/hydraulic calculations using appropriate models such as TR-55, TR-20, HY-8, CulvertMaster, HEC programs, PondPack, HydroCAD, RISA-3D, etc
Directing and reviewing work products prepared by junior engineering staff including: Hydrology & Hydraulics Reports, SWPPPs, LID design, WQMPs, Cost Estimates, and related calculations, designs, evaluations, and specifications.
Executing civil engineering methods and practices in the preparation of bid-ready engineering designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports.
Using design programs such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, MicroStation, etc.
Developing client relationships, pursuing prospective projects, preparing proposals, and presenting at client interviews and industry forums
Duties may include:
Design of stormwater management facilities and features.
Manage accuracy, budgets, quality, safety, reporting, schedule, and client expectations
Support other (non-stormwater) civil and environmental projects which may include earthwork, wastewater, remediation, solid waste, and restoration.
Internal and External Oral Presentations.
Training / Mentoring staff.
Developing new and maintaing existing client and regulatory relationships.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related engineering program from an accredited university.
PE license
7 years of stormwater, environmental engineering, site development or related experience
Experience with FEMA floodplain modeling/delineation and preparation of Letters of Map Revision and Conditional Letters of Map Revision preferred
Experience with biological systems and constructed wetlands preferred
Available for travel as necessary (approximately 15% travel)
