Burns & McDonnell Project Administrator - Water Systems (Kansas City) in Wichita, Kansas
This position facilitates engineering and construction projects by collaborating and guiding the Project Manager and project team in providing and presenting administrative project information. This position coordinates both externally and internally with clients and project management for providing solutions in the execution of project and program needs.
Create, develop, monitor, and track scope, schedule, and budget. Work to develop contract development in coordination with task leaders
Consolidate progress reports from multiple tasks leaders and update clients on tasks status
Collaborate with task leaders and project manager
Work with internal team and subcontractors to get schedule and budget updates
Guide through change and adversity, flexible and open-minded, and dependable
Be able to take direction and drive project tasks forward
Develop and maintain a strong professional relationships with internal and external clients. Works well with others within a team and group environment.
Update annual rate sheets and assist with updating other financial items.
Create, maintain and process invoice information.
Develop and implement processes and procedures for the team assisting with the project administration.
Responsible for QA/QC process and obtaining approval of project closeout.
Serves as a resource for the department and assists staff with questions and concerns.
Prepare and present budget estimates to the Project Manager.
Assist in problem-solving complex or difficult project situations with administrative staff and internal/external customers.
Train and mentor project administrative team.
Audit and report compliance with applicable processes.
Produce reports as requested by the Project Manager.
Manage project closeout activities and processes.
Provide complex administrative project support within the various clients, sub-contractors, and internal departments.
Responsible for enforcing and maintaining industry compliance of contract and project files.
Track and report project measures.
All other duties as assigned.
High School Degree required. Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred, in a related field or minimum of 15 years experience. Applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
Position requires the ability to work independently, demonstrating accuracy, reliability, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint is required.
Advanced Excel skills, including spreadsheet manipulation using macros, pivot tables, V-lookup, linking of spreadsheets, charts, and analysis, etc.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels within an organization.
A PMP certification or experience preferred
