The Automation Software Project Manager will lead software design on project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including warehousing logistics, distribution, and manufacturing. The Automation Software Project Manager will lead the project team throughout the conceptual, design, and construction process, adapting automated system plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.
Evaluate client business operations and objectives to develop an appropriate Software integration and automation for warehouse automation projects
Supports project staff in preparing for and/or facilitating customer conversations related to service offerings.
Performs reviews of service requests which may also include customers' standards specification and other documentation to determine requirements.
Generates the scope of work for automation services and associated software systems.
Supports generation of proposals for automation services.
Provide assistance to estimating team through investigation, coordination, etc. of information to support their efforts.
Set requirements for software deliverables in warehousing/logistics projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
Develop basis of design documentation to define automated system performance to support client evaluation of solution viability.
Prepare automation equipment specifications and data sheets, Request for Quote (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
Develop of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and deployment planning. Responsible for effective management of change orders.
Apply knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.
Set requirements for Quality review of software deliverables for a variety of projects and project related data as required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.
Quality review the construction administration including coordination with field personnel to resolve design related installation issues, calculations, field inspections and testing of automated systems.
Leads field inspections, installation, measurements or calculations for private clients.
Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
Participate in sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates. Report project performance.
Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to the automation engineering practice. Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Experience in commissioning Material Handling, WMS / WCS, order fulfilment and warehouseautomation in an engineering discipline
Experience in object-oriented software development, preferably C#.Net and/or Java
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred.
Tertiary Qualifications in Systems/Computer/Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
Knowledge of best practice in Systems Engineering and multi-disciplined project management
Reporting and analytics experience will be an advantage
7 years’ experience required, 10 preferred, in warehouse material handling equipment application.
Detailed engineering (project execution) experience preferred.
Solutions and concept development experience required.
Strongly prefer experience in cost estimation of automated systems, preferably with multiple suppliers.

Simulation software modeling
Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.
Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
