AZCO Field Operations Manager - AZCO (Nationwide) in Appleton, Wisconsin

Summary: Develops and manages staffing programs for union and employee-owner site supervision. Manages supervisory development processes for union and non-union site supervision to ensure continued financial growth, collaboration, and client satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Adheres to AZCO’s quality and safety culture and Zero Injury Program.

  • Manages a group of field construction supervisory positions who are responsible for project execution.

  • Oversees project dispatching for union and employee-owner site supervision.

  • Understands and studies labor availability to develop and sustain strong operational teams. Evaluate labor utilization and availability during the estimating, preconstruction, and construction stages.

  • Collaborates with field construction supervision to develop and sustain high performing teams.

  • Coordinates and identifies essential superintendent and foreman training for consistent application to AZCO’s operations initiatives, policies and procedures.

  • Provides performance feedback to identify critical training and development opportunities for succession planning.

  • Identifies and drives continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen customer satisfaction, jobsite efficiencies, productivity, and profitability.

  • Administers the union supervisory compensation packages.

  • Conduct project safety, quality, progress and financial audits and assessments as required.

  • Assists in the recruiting of site superintendents and maintains relationships throughout recruiting process. Coordinates with the field operations and human resources departments to select candidates based on skills, abilities and leadership.

  • Supports the human resources team to promote trade careers to youth in the community. Works with local organizations such as vocational and/or technical colleges, Chamber of Commerce, and high schools.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has direct reports to include construction managers and superintendents and will indirectly oversee the management of other onsite office supervision.

  • The project management team will assist in directing and supervising employees who are assigned to their project.

Travel:

  • This position is required to travel approximately 50% to jobsites and business-related functions and events.

  • Willingness to travel to specific locations at required times is required.

  • Occasional requirement to travel to a location with limited notice.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction, Engineering or a related field.

  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • A minimum of 10 years relevant project manager experience in the construction industry.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Explorer Internet Software; MS Office with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be available to travel approximately 50% to sites not yet determined.

  • Strong organizational skills with extreme attention to detail.

  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Ability to work with a wide range of personalities.

  • Multiple years of experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, transportation, or water is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years managing union construction operations.

  • A basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Must be able to meet company's driving requirements.
