Our Transmission & Distribution (T&D) global practice is seeking an Assistant Program Manager in our Atlanta, Georgia office. The ideal candidate will have a safety-first mindset, be dedicated to making their clients and teams successful, and take an entrepreneurial approach to their job.

The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for leading diverse teams in the successful delivery of complex programs, from inception through final close-out, including the development and implementation of processes, procedures, strategy, execution plans, resource planning, risk management, and reporting tools. Job responsibilities include:

•Lead the development and execution of programs that achieve our client’s objectives

•Provide leadership to the Program team; direct and coordinate the work of a multi-disciplined team and ensure the efficient and cost-effective utilization of staff.

•Manage Program budget and expenditure of funds.

•Drive systems integration and the implementation of data collection, data management, data analytics and reporting tools to drive efficiency in reporting to enable strategic

decisions regarding program budgets and schedule risks.

•Achieve stated targets and standards for the Program financial performance.

•Present monthly financial information to leadership including program revenue forecasts.

•Support strategies for cross-selling engineering services across the organization.

•Engage in professional interactions with clients, outside vendors, other Burns & McDonnell offices and program teams and develop relationships with client’s key individuals.

•Extensive travel and/or temporary or permanent relocation may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program and 7 years applicable experience required.

  • Expert experience in managing projects, which includes client relations, proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, project controls, risk management, and change management.

  • Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage project and program teams.

  • Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).

  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • A basic understanding of regulatory and accounting practice is preferred — Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) preferred.
