The Change Management Project Manager will play a key role in building the enterprise change management capability at Burns and McDonnell. This role will lead the development, execution, and maintenance of the business unit change management portfolio. This role will focus on changes to culture, job roles, organizational structures, and business processes, systems & technology. This includes creating and implementing change management strategies and plans to maximize employee adoption & usage and minimize the resistance of large-scale change initiatives. The goal of the Change Management Project Manager’s work is to increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of intended results and outcomes of organizational changes.

  • Consult and coach change management practitioners and project teams on change management principles and methodology.

  • Coach sponsors and stakeholders.

  • Support and engage senior leaders.

  • Develop and maintain business unit change portfolio.

  • Create and manage content for online change management community.

  • Manage change practitioner community of practice.

  • Develop and facilitate competency-building workshops for all levels of the organization.

  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management work for internal clients and initiatives.

  • Assess the change impacts and risks.

  • Create change management strategy.

  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance.

  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics.

  • Create actionable deliverables for communication, sponsorship, training, people managers, success metrics, and resistance management planning.

  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities.

  • Integrate change management activities into project plans.

  • Evaluate and ensure stakeholder readiness.

  • Track and report risks and issues.

  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.

  • All other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, organizational leadership, or related field.

  • 7 years of experience.

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.

  • Experience with Prosci ADKAR® Model is preferred.

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.

  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.

  • Excellent active listening skills.

  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.

  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.

  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.

  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.

  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.

  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.

  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.

  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.

  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.

  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.

  • Change Management certification or designation. Prosci Certification preferred.
