Description
Working with the US counterparts and the team on project direct and indirect cost estimates independently or in a group
Collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities
Reviewing project plans, blueprints, and specifications to gain a thorough understanding of the scope of work
Analyzing project requirements, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs, to prepare accurate
estimates and budgets
Utilizing industry-specific software and tools to perform quantity takeoffs, cost calculations, and develop detailed project cost estimates
Reviewing quotes on bonds and insurance
Participating in subcontractor solicitation and pre-qualification reviews
Involving in research and source materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy
in estimating
Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain current pricing and availability for construction materials and services
Identifying and assessing project risks and uncertainties that may impact costs, schedules, or project feasibility
Making final recommendations as to fee, contingency and escalation
Reviewing commercial terms and conditions and addressing the risk issues
Preparing and presenting comprehensive cost estimates, including detailed breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment,
and subcontractor costs, to internal stakeholders and clients
- Participating in bid meetings, negotiations, and client presentations to discuss cost estimates, project timelines, and
potential value-added services
- Collaborating with project teams during the transition from the estimating phase to project execution, ensuring accurate
transfer of project knowledge and maintaining cost control throughout construction
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement) with 5 to 15 years of experience
Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Expertise with Microsoft Office, specially Excel
Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools such as Advance Excel, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, HeavyBid, InEight, ConEst, K-Base will be preferred.
Ability to work independently or in groups, thinking creatively and analytically, and making quick and sound decisions
OSHA 10-hour certification required
Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and techniques
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards
Demonstrated experience in value engineering and cost optimization strategies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
Experience in successfully bidding and winning construction projects is a plus.
